If the dealer is actually ben sold, and under new ownership their is proably not alot you can do. except give the new owner a bad rep. I would still complain,also if you didnt put a depoist or have a sales contract you have no leg to stand on. I put 500 down and have a sales agrement in writing for only 50 over inv.I hate dealers but I found a good one they sell all vehicle at 50 over inv.

If you have anything in writing (email suffices), it will stand up in small claims court in most states.
In California, that's $5,000 for your club.
Just tell them "You can stand up and be a good businessman and live up to your contract, or I can take this to Small Claims Court and let them settle it".
The EXACT thing happened to me, the day I went to pick it up. They wanted $4K over MSRP, well above my $500+invoice deal.
I never had to use the words "Small Claims Court". I started with "I have a deal with your company. We are good Ford customers, and I intend on buying more Ford products and getting service done at the dealer. Step up and live up to your word, and gain that future business." My next sentence was going to be about Small Claims Court, but it didn't have to go that far.

I would be mad if i would have made a downpayment and had my buyers guide or order form with all prices in my hand!!! I just ordered my GT Premium Package with some extras.......
I was quoted by one dealer 10% over MSRP. Then I went to another dealer that always offer thier fords below MSRP. They said they would hook me up 50 bucks below. On my way to order my car, another dealer called me. I told him that I was going to order a car from Drew Ford at 50 bucks below MSRP(GT Prem), he said that he could give me 500 below MSRP in writting
, so I had him email it to me and went to his dearlship the next day to place my order. BAM

The reason I paid MSRP is because I wanted it right there and then,,, if you gonna keep thinkin like you do, then you could wait till october of 2005 and by then you can probably get a $3000 dollar cash back, plus other rebates and 0% financing on a 2005, since the 06's are gonna be comin out,,,
Sometimes you shouldnt pay certain price for somethin, but you do to have to have it earlier,,, I paid $700 for my Sony playstaion 2 from Japan , but i had it over a year before it came out here,,,

I bought using x plan and when I went to pay for it they threw in some extra charges not allowed by x plan I wanted the car and had the cash so I paid the fluff charges. now out of principle I'm demanding a refund of the charges. I've also one of few people who has access to Bill Ford JR. So I've named the dealer and his office is looking into the matter. The owner of the dealer promised me a refund of the charges. stay tuned.

It is simply amazing to read some of the nonsense about how you have to pay sticker or more to get one. These buyers walk into a showroom convinced that they will be paying more than what logic dictates. People like that are a car salesmans dream customer. They might as well enter the showroom bent over backwards.

I'm sorry - I want a new GT so bad I can taste it - but I will NEVER pay full list price for a car - in 6 months to a year they will be way more reasonable - and from what some of you have posted, if you look carefully, good deals are already to be had if you perservere.
My last GT vert was $25 below invoice (right when the 99's came out and most dealers weren't discounting heavily).
I'd follow some of the advice given here and then maybe post a note in the Mustang Club's Newsletter (if there is one) about the shady practice (or threaten to do so - maybe that will get him to move on your deal). If not - maybe it's time for the club to visit another dealership and ask them if they would like a the club's endorsement for good prices. The shortage won't last forever and they will have a shot at prolonged sales from that kind of deal.

The reason for the price descrepency is because you need to go from no shaker stereo to the shaker 1000. If you do that (by selecting GT Deluxe instead of GT Premium) the price for invoice works out. Do the math and it works out.
By selecting the GT premium you start out with the Shaker 500 which is a $665 option. So that $1295 is basically the cost to upgrade from the Shaker 500 to the Shaker 1000. Yeah, go to forddirect it is all there.
I don't work for Van Bortel but I have bought 2 cars from them at below invoice after rebates and was very satisfied.
