I really screwed up my hood.
As one of my previous posts, i acquired a used Saleen Heat extractor hood for my 2002 S281. Well, the alignmet was a little off and i would have to SLAM it to get it to latch. Well yesterday i was trying to line it up a little better and after repeated slamming over a couple of hours, stupid me realized i mauled the striker plate on the hood. The fiberglass surrounding the whole striker plate is now cracked.
I am trying to figure out what kind of of fiber filler i should use to seal up the cracks in the fiberglass and strengthen the fiberglass to metal bond. Any ideas on a specific brand would be great. BUT i also think i have compromised the safety of my hood and think i should get hood pins to make sure it doesnt ever come up on me. Anybody have any hood pins or know what brand would work well for our cars?
