I am debating between the xcal 2 from SHM or Modular Depot. MD has 2 custom tunes included as well as the free PC cable. Does the Xcal from SHM come with any custom tunes and the PC cable? Do I even need the custom tune? SHM is about $25 cheaper so I can't decide. Also who usually ships faster?

TGJ - You wouldn't be spreading rumors. Facts are facts, and SHM blows. I can't even believe I'm reading that they are CHEAPER than someone else. Do NOT buy from SHM. They still owe me money and could give a rat's ass about it.

You've been warned.

Seems like Modular is the better deal. SHM wants $50.00 for the PC cable. Modular Depot gives the cable to you. You will save $25.00 if you go with Modular Depot. Pearl02.

I ordered it from Modular Depot. Can't wait. :nice:

OK. I'm fairly new the the handheld tuners and I've been in the process of researching them to find out the best place to get one and all that. My main question is, if I buy one that doesn't have a tune already, can I still get hp out of just tweaking the little things like timing and shift points?

The Xcals come empty from SCT.
The place you buy it from like MD will get some basic info from your car like what mods it has, what fuel you run and what your computer code is(3letters and a number) and then they will tune it for normally up to 3 tunes. Then you receive the product.

Kind of hard when it doesn't know what motor its being used on. They come with tunes when you pay for them.

I am not going to spread rumours about SHM, but basicilly yes. Also, MD is a lot closer to the higher ups of SCT, so you will get better support out of MD.

SHM must really suck since MD's support is not that great. Be sure to call MD for support, they don't answer emails.
