This may sound silly, but I can never get the seafoam to burn copious amounts of smoke..

I put 1/3rd of the can into the crankcase, 1/3rd in the fuel tank and 1/3rd through the PCV valve, disconnecting the PCV valve and letting it run into the intake, while the car is on and idling with a friend there to keep it from stalling. I then wait 15 minutes then turn the car on, and at most a puff of blue smoke will come out...

I figured it was just the synthetic oil already doing the job (she's had synthetic all her life) but I tried it on a buddy's extremely dirty and rich as hell '95 SS LT1 that uses regular oil and put it through the brake booster line... still only the puff in the beginning...

Thoughts as to why I don't get to experience the fun of continual smoke? Am I doing this wrong or something?

I put the whole can in through a vaccum line that runs to the back of the upper plenum, and I make more than enough smoke.

I failed on my first attempt. I let it suck about half the can in and then waited for 15-20 minutes and got pretty much nothing.

I tried again and let it suck the remainder in, killed it and let it set for 5 mins, and it worked that time. Lots of smoke

I guess I just waited too long the first time

I put only 1/2 can through my PCV hose the first time. I burned a little bit of smoke. But I've taken care of my engine and expected it to run pretty clean. Don't get upset if your engine isn't dirty.

If you're only interested in the smoke show, suck half the can through the brake booster or a powerful vac line with the engine running.. keep pouring it in the line so that the car barely runs. Once you get half the can poured in, go shut the engine off quick. Don't sit there revving it up while you're pouring it in or you'll burn it all off and won't get the smoke show.

Then dump the other half of the can in the crankcase. Let it sit 10 mins or so. The theory behind shutting it off and letting it sit is that you've hopefully poured enough down that vac line to have some Seafoam still sitting on top of the pistons when you shut it off.. therefore the Seafoam works on that carbon, then when you start it, it burns all that Seafoam/carbon out of there.

After 10 mins or so start it up and let it run like crap for a minute, then start rev'ing it.. you'll get smoke.
