Seam Sealer Tape

I'm working on the drip rails on a '66 FB. I've ran brushable seam sealer, and smoothed it with my pinky. I had a couple uneven places and decided to try again. One of the guys are work mentioned that he had used seam sealer tape from 3M. Has anyone used this, on both the drip rails and jams - and with what kind of results?

i just used seam sealer, i have never heard of "tape", but the drip rail is kinda small for tape isnt it?
