Seat won’t recline

I had the seats out of the 93 Lx for cleaning and painting. I disassembled the backrests from the lower portion in the process. Upon reassembly they won’t recline. The tilt forward lever on the back works and the seat will tilt all the way forward as it should. But when you pull up on the side recline lever, the backrests only go back a small amount before binding. I didn’t notice anything fall apart or otherwise unusual when I took them apart.

Why won’t they recline? I figure it’s something simple but please help. How do I fix this? Thanks.

Hold on. These are convertible seats. Is it true they are made to not recline? They recline only a small amount.

I was going to ask-do vert seats fully recline- @90sickfox used to be a vert guy,maybe he knows off hand

I know the 99-04 mustangs uses an extra rivet on the seat to prevent full recline due to the seat belt loops on all the seats. I drilled them out on my seats.

No clue of the fox converible seats are like this. I've never driven a vert

My factory seats in the 89 reclined all the way back....I don't remember about the others. Never really paid attention.

Fox convertible seats don't recline. At least not much.

Don't know I'd any mods were done to my 89... or if they were original seats. They were white with porno red center and piping. The door panels were also white and red with black up top. I could recline them until the seats hit the quarter panel trim.

If this is a very, the seats do not recline very much. Look at the trim around the the rear seat. You were will notice a reclined seat would hit the trim.
