Sometime in the next week I will be having a second surgery on my left arm as the bone has not healed. I'm told that the humerus is the number 2 bone to suffer a non-union after a full fracture due to a poor blood supply to the mid-shaft. They will be removing the rod that was put in during the first surgery and will thus cut into my rotator cuff again. They'll make an incision across the length of the back of my arm and putting a broad plate in, to force compression on the bone.
LAst time it was outpatient surgery but they'll keep me in the hospital for at least 3 days this time, to control the pain. After 2-4 weeks I'll begin rehab again and hopefully go back to work.
Stay tuned...
