Yeah, where the hell are our pictures???? You literally could have taken pictures of the work and not typed a single word and we all would have grunted, sipped some cold beer, and thumbs upped the living hell out of this thread.

Took a little drive in the '84 Mustang to Burney, Ca. The little four cylinder does a great job and is a blast to drive! Took some pics, these are post repairs.

Here is my 84 GT Turbo. 44k miles. The LMR TRX wheels are the way too go. 1500 dollars for rims and tires and bolt on with no issues.

Very nice! Fairly rare color for the '84 Turbo, I believe about 90 were painted that color. Not sure if it makes them worth any more, but it does make them rare.

Marti Report says 89 Charcoal of which 6 had the red halo seat interior. This car was original down to Motorcraft plugs, wires, air filter etc. Just did timing belt, water pump, and hoses.

There were two red halo seat trims in 84. Which one is yours? HD or PD?

So that is 6 of P27W with 9W paint and PD (low-back cloth Articulated Sport) trim and an unknown number of P27W with 9W paint with HD (low-back cloth Sport Performance) trim

There were also 6 of P27W with 9W paint with FD (low-back cloth and vinyl) trim

Hi Everyone! There is supposed to be a tube from the charcoal canister to the air filter on my 1984 Mustang GT 2.3 Turbo. It looks like it should be about a 3/4" I.D. x12" PCV hose? Does anyone know if this is available anywhere? I know there were not a lot of these cars built and so far, the after market (NAPA/O'Reilly's) parts guys have not been able to find them in their computer screens. If they are not available, is there a bulk hose available by the foot for a 3/4" I.D. application?

Are you sure it goes there?
I've seen a hose from valve cover to air cleaner hose.

Looks like it does. I remember it being there when I first got the car. I can't find a schematic of the smog system for this car. Lots of stuff for the V8's, and maybe it's just me but it seems like these four cylinder turbo's are red headed step children...

So there is no hose between the top of the charcoal canister and the air cleaner. The charcoal canister should look like this:

So you are missing these:

I stand 100% corrected. Found this picture and it clearly (although fuzzily) shows a hose from the front opening on the canister up to the air box with the opening behind it having the mushroom cap.

A heater hose will work, for a while, garden hose works but that's kinda tacky (even by my standards) maybe keep a diagram/shape from A (canister) to B (air cleaner) with the inside diameter notes look for breather (emissions) hose from a newer car,
Worth a try

I picked up an 84 turbo vert this summer as well. Not a speed demon but super fun car to drive around in. Second owner and it needed some love in terms of maintenance. The rag joint was GONE so that was fix $1. Then brakes and a few other things like removing the rats nest under the back seat.
The plans for this spring is to get all the steering and suspension completed. Bought all the parts last fall but ran out of time. I post all my car stuff to my IG account. It's the same as my name here, Bdub_mkg
