While moving my Ford Racing engine temp gauge from one location to another, I broke the cable/line leading to the sender. Out of it came what smelled like alcohol. So I'm unsure if I could just solder it back together or not.

Is there an easy fix for this or am I stuck ordering a new gauge?

The picture shows where the Ford Racing gauge broke off (on left). There's an extremely small hole in the copper line where the alcohol smelling liquid came out of. I have this other type of sender (on right). I could just crimp and solder the copper line to an eyelet and attach it to here as well. But I am unsure if they read the same...? They are both Autometer senders I believe.

Mechanical temp gauges have an alcohol filed tube that connects the sensor bulb to the gauge. If you break the tube, the gauge is not reparable by normal means. Try Google to find an instrument repair shop.

Unfortunately for me, there aren't any places in my area that are capable of doing this repair. And since it's just a gauge, the cost of shipping and then the cost of repair would probably equal the cost of a new gauge.

But.... there is a solution. I did find this.

1933 Plymouth Temperature Gauge Repair

Not sure if I'm going to attempt a repair. But I'll post the link for future people looking for this same advice.
