Serious Fuel Problem?

Ive had my 05 GT since Feb. 8. Since then, its been in the shop for everything, bellhousing, shaker, popping noise, and the fuel tank most recently. Im telling ya, they didnt do much work on my mustang, everything that could have possibly came messed up, did. But anyways, ive been getting real crappy gas mileage, about 12.7 and im 75highway/25city . So it should be alot better. There is also something very wrong with my computer when it comes to the fuel. Today I put $5 into the tank that had 37 Miles to E. I turn the car back on after putting in the gas, and it did not even move, the gas didnt even register. Ive also had situations where the guy cant get the gas to go and then when it goes to $1 it just starts takin the gas fine, like gas is just disappearing into the abys. Ive let the car sit for about 10 min, maybe to get it to settle... it worked once but not tonight. Do I need to do something or should I go back to the dealer? this is annoying and its costin me alot of money $$$$ Im a dam college student paying off my mustang, the last thing I need is to be wasting money on invisible gas.

I have JLT CAI with 91 Octane Tune if that helps if anyone has had the same problem

well, it seems as if there is an issue with your ECU. I suggest you return the vehicle to the dealer once again.

Why would you be spending so much money on getting it all fixed up, the dealer is supposed to have everything covered under warranty.

Oh no, Im not spending money on getting the things fixed Im spending money on the gas that isnt registering or behaving wierd. Thats whats pissing me off.

many people including me have had problems with the fuel level sending units after the tank is replaced. take it back to the dealer and have them fix it. should not be a big deal.

If its a fuel gage problem go to your dealer and ask for the Chevron fuel additive they're testing. Its a small black bottle (kinda looks like a beer bottle). You just add that in at about half a tank and fill up again. The problem is that the sulfur or phosphor in some unleaded gas messes up the gage. The additive coats the sensors and gets rid of the problem. Its all in testing but it has been fixing all the problems at our Ford dealership and there are no side effects.

the additive your looking for is techron, its in chevron gas but if you look at the corvette boards this is a problem with most gasolenes and techron seem to clear it up, may take a tank or 2.

I've been having problems with my 02 Chev Siverado. I hope the fix for it is this simple as well.

Yeah it techron but it says Chevron right on the bottle. Same thing though.

Mike, there is a TBS for a revised fuel tank for the slow fill issue. My car has the same problem, it takes forever to fill it as it constantly clicks off.

The fuel gauge not moving is actually normal. On most of the newer Fords, if you have less than a 1/4 tank, and you only put a few gallons in, it will not show a change on the gauge when you restart the car. It SHOULD however, show the new fuel level after a key cycle or two. If it doesn't EVER go up, then I'd say you do have an issue.

As for the poor MPG, I can sympathize with that one. My car gets horrendous milage as well. I have not tuned it yet with the blower and other mods, but even stock, it sucked down gas like it was going out of style.

Thanks guys for all the responses, i think i figured out the problem.... I put a fuel like substance in the fuel tank to like clean it out and now that im looking back that seems to be the problem. Gonna try that stuff you guys suggested.

Power Surge, yea I had my fuel tank replaced already... maybe i need another?
