I'll bet that had something to do with the car sitting in a ditch.

thats pretty bad, i thought my tz. boxes were bad, ive never seen them completly out of the car. i would try and get some money back from the seller, thats total BS, if you didnt pick this up now, something bad probly would have happened

wow that's ridiculous. i'd take the torque box and hit the seller in the face with it.

Just buy a panhard and torque arm and F the upper control arms all together!

That would be cheaper than $800 to fix a useless upper control arm mounting point.

I've already got the box welded together, I just need to weld it back up in the car now, so $20 in flux-core is definitely cheaper than buying any parts. I'm reinforcing everything too so there are no worries

Well, everything is welded back up into the car, here's a pic. I'm going to change the clutch out while it's up in the air, so I still have a little while before I know how well everything is going to sit. You can see all the repair welds that had to be made to the box itself though The stock tack welds were rediculous

I would suggest getting a torque box reinforcement kit too while you are at it.

UCA kits are pointless for what my problem is, they bolt on the inside of the car, it's not an actual support box like the LCA kit. If you look at the weld points on the factory unit, that was the fail point, they're super weak spot welds, this sucker isn't going anywhere now!
