Just put a new C&L Plenum on yesterday afternoon. Double checked my work, let the car run for a few minutes, everything seemed ok. This morning on my way to work, the "sevice engine soon" light came on. Haven't had a chance to look yet, but has anyone else had this experience?

I've heard people have problems with the tps after installing plenums. Double check that. Did you make sure your gaskets were ok and you torqued everything down to specs.

That was my thought too. I know everything is tightened down sufficiently. I'll have to check the gaskets when I get home. Fingers are crossed. Anybody else have a guess?

The answer to your problem is that you changed the plenum. Everything on your car is completely fine 100%. If you don't like seeing the light you can spend $59.99 for MIL eliminators and once you install them and ride around a little the light will go off. The thing is your 02 (oxygen) sensor in your exhaust is reading something different, something not stock and thinks something is wrong....when actually nothing is wrong at all. Trust me with any 96-up car if you change exhaust, mass air, intake, tb....99% of the time that check engine light will come on....give Dallas mustang a call or look around in the classifieds.....$60 is the most you will spend maybe $5-10 to ship them to you. Oh these are also a not to hard install the go where you 02 sensors are in your exhaust.

mil eliminators are not the answer. all they do is alter the signal sent from your o2 sensors after the cats. mil eliminators have nothing to do with your intake

Exactly. Mils are not the answer. Read this thread: http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=418091

And my light's off now.

how would mil eliminators affect the air that hasn't even entered the engine yet?

I would say go to Auto Zone or simular place and see what the code is.. Then we can give you a more logical answer. If that is a hassle, I would check all the fittings and makes sure everything is on Maybe you damaged something putting in on?

The only thing I can think of that could've been damaged is the TPS.

Problem solved. While putting my C&L on, I also cleaned my K&N filter. In the process of doing that I unplugged the meter - and forgot to plug it back in. Saw it as soon as I raised the hood. Thanks for the help tho guys.

You didnt have any kind of rough idle since the mass air meter wasnt plugged in? I would think that would have wrecked havoc on your a/f
Glad you found the easy fix though

When I 1st installed my CAI I forgot to plug up the MAF sensor as well but had no rough idle or ride whatsoever, even w/ the Check Engine Light.
