OK, I just did my 60K tune up and put a CAI.... drove to Vegas last Sunday and a couple of days later the "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" light came on while in Vegas. The guys at the Shop where I did my Tune up looked at it and I guess they scanned it and mentioned something about the Valve being cleaned or something, the lite was off for about a few hours after I picked up mu car and came back on again. I dont know this but : Could the CAI have anything to do with this ????? `Cose when I took it there they were hesitating about how should they install the damn thing and asked for the directions that came w/it (E-bay CAI by the way) and where should the MAF sensor be attached-charged me $65 for the installation.... SO any opinion would be helpfull, I am taking it back to the shop tomorrow and see what happens

Make sure the wiring connector to the MAF is secured. If that is in order put your stock air intake back on if you still have it and see if that doesn't eliminate the SES light. The CAI kits I am familiar with are all straightforward as far as installation and you should be able to easily install it yourself.

mabey a cylinder misfired a ur mechanic could tell u this just by pluggin in one of those computers.....the light wont go away by itself ur gunna have to take it back to the mechanic anyways ... the mechanic shouldnt charge u much if anything

*SIGH* The SES light on the V6's is like a friggin' plague.

Ask your mechanic what the code is/ means. Alot of time it's the stupid DPFE sensor (works with the EGR valve)

CHECK THIS HERE for more info.

Either that or the computer is saying it's getting "too much air"

However I got my CAI off of Ebay and haven't had a problem yet.

Thanx everyone, I got it scanned today at AUTOZONE for free, and it gave me a code P0401 Insuff. EGR flow, so I went back to my shop where I did the tune up and they said they could check it tomorrow.....not sure about that though, `cose when they Installed my CAI i noticed that the rubber sleeve that is supposed to go right after the MAF is not on the tube and the whole thing feels loose so I might just ask for my $65 back and go someplace else, as for the EGR I will buy the sensor and see if that is the problem or not.

WADUP, I just came back from The FORD dealership and got the EGR Sensor ($33w/tax).......funny thing, didn`t even put the new one in, checked the CAI hoses and found out that the suckers at the shop didn`t tighten the Clamps to the throttle body+the rubber sleeve that is supposed to go where the MAF sensor is was not installed( IT DIDN`T FIT was their excuse ) so I tightened the Clamps disconnected the negative on the battery and the SERVICE ENGINE SOON is gone, vanishedddddddddd, gtg for a drive now and see if it comes back on, and tomorrow I have an appointment at the shop at 9am so will ask for my money back ($65) +will try to put the sleeve that was left out..........
