1. How hard is it to install a Dynomat door kit and a Dynomat Trunk Kit in a 2001GT?

2. What are reasonibly priced 5"X7" replacement speakers for the rear deck and front doors?

3. Any one ever order from Ike's sound and how is their customer service/shipping?

dyno mat is easy, first rule is that the edges are sharp like a knife so watch your fingers. take your door panales off, then you can either mount the dyno mat over the factory plastic liner then have over the door, or you can remove it, i had a large piece of dynomat so i removed the entire film and made it out of dyno mat. just make sure to cut out around door handles etc. and you wont have a prob. now if you buying just the door kit i think there just 2 sheets of 12x12 that you put around the speaker mounting location, ehh your not going to get much out of that, so if you do it you should have enough for the whole door i think.

1. My GF deadened one of my doors, while I did the other one, lol. Have you ever cleaned, peel stickers and rolled paint? Same idea.

Dynamat is expensive, since you are still going with 5x7's, you probably aren't going "all out" on your stereo. Second skin, elemental designs, fatmat, brown bread, etc. all make deadeners cheaper than dynamat, and do the job.

Ike's sound has pretty good prices on Dynamat. If not 5X7's what would you reccomend for door speakers? I'm kind of set on using 5X7's in the rear because they are easy to install and the rears are not as important as the front speakers.

I listen to allot of Jazz, R&B and talk radio I know I'm getting old, I listen to a little rap and rock and roll.

A decent set of 5x7's will be just fine. JL makes a good one, as does Infinity. The Boston plates look good (I haven't heard them). Will you be using JUST the 5x7's, with no amp or subwoofer?

Right now I only have enough budget to purchase 2 sets of speakers and the Dynamat for the trunk and doors. Next I will get rid of the stock deck, then I will look into an amp and a sub.

I have Kicker 5 x 7 separates and they sound great.
BEWARE!
If you have a Mach 460, none of the aftermarket speaker will sound good with it, since the 6x8s are run low pass off of the factory amps. It may be better to get a HU now and run the new speakers directly off of it.

Cool, I didn't know. I just wanted to make sure before you dropped some cheddar on speakers. You're good to go then.

Regardless of what brand you get, just like anything you do, preparation is 90% of your sucess. Clean the doors down good, and get all of the grime off. Then take denatured alcohol, or similar cleaner with no residue, and wipe them down.

Ikesound has worked good for me, as with any company some have complaints.
Any name brand 5x7 is going to sound ok for ya, it's just when you start spending more on your stereo than your car then...

I remember those days. I really want a crisp clear stereo system nothing to loud. Back in my audiophyle days, clarity was my trademark.

I'm such a Wal-Mart rat. I got some Pioneer TS-A6870R's in the front and rear. They're 6x8 and fit PERFECTLY, no problems what so ever. It even says right on the speaker "special fit for Ford, Mazda" They're 220 watts max. they're about $60 -$70 a pair. I recomend that you replace the factory 5x7's with aftermarket 6x8's. Pioneer is like the cheap man's great parts. (like the Dodge Stealth was the cheap man's Mitsubishi 3000GT) Sony Explode is overrated, and Roadmaster is Wal-Mart's own brand (200watt speakers for $20? something ain't right) DON'T GO WITH THEM.
