what is the difference in getting an sfi harmonic balancer and a damper thats not sfi approved? i am wanting to do a 351 swap and want to make sure i get the right one.

SFI approved is needed to run faster then 11.50 on NHRA sanctioned tracks..they are made with a little higher standards...and they cost alittle more. It doesnt hurt to run an sfi approved balancer if you arent sure.

I would say get a sfi approved dampner. one less reason why the tech guess won't pass you.

I would note however that being SFI doesnt mean it's good. I'd rather have a decent street balancer than some of the crap SFI's.
