I recently traded some equipment (1500 worth) for some work on my car, and I think the guy is trying to screw me...He claims he bored and stroked the engine, put a racing cam in, a new flywheel, new injectors, new cylinder heads, changed my oil(its still black though), and installed a diablo chip(Installed on the side with my fuses, my computer is on the passenger side). He did all this starting at 12:00 in the afternoon saturday and it was done by 2 am the next morning. The bore and stroke only took 2 and a half hours, I know this because it was assembled and i test drove the car then. I didn't notice any change in sound, or the way it drives. I didn't get to see any of the work done, so I doubt he even disassembled the engine. Is there any way I can easily check to see if this is legit? I really doubt it is..

Ask him to see the old parts.

I doubt thast he did any of that. No way could he dissassemble a 4.6L engine, stroke and bore it and reassemble it in 14 hours. It's just not possible

You got screwed, time to get your **** back

Your "mechanic" is like a septic tank....he is full of ****. With the prices that modular motor parts bring, there is no way he did that stuff in trade for $1500 worth of stuff. Nor is the amount of time that it was done in reasonable. If it were me, I'd go to his house and introduce my boot to his nutsack and take my stuff back.

BTW, ask him which cylinder head he put the racing cam in :nonono:

TROLL

Go talk to him and bring along a mechanic, if you can. Tell him you want your old parts back, if he does have parts that he says are your check it to to make sure. If he can't produce the parts, tell him what you think and that you are going to the police [you may have to report him to the police b/c if you don't and you have to take the guy to court the judge may ask you why you never] Don't threaten him with violence as this too, may go against you if you have to drag him to small claims court.
Good Luck!!

No, the engine was bored, stroked, and reassembled (ready for test drive) in 2 1/2 hours:

I can't believe you guys are falling for this.

Hey just make a statement saying he did bored and stroked the engine, put a racing cam in, a new flywheel, new injectors, new cylinder heads, and make him sign it with a witness. then after that get the paper notorized, take you car to another performance shop ask them if the car got all the stuff he said was done. if not take him to judge judy :D and get money or stuff back :D
