I have a question about the Shaker 500/1000 audio systems in the 2006 Mustang. What is the difference between the two, and is the Shaker 1000 worth the additional $1000? I DO like to listen to my Jimmy Buffett cd's when I'm driving to work, and I want something that won't disappoint me in terms of sound quality. Is the Shaker 1000 worth the additional cost?

The 1000 comes with 2 10" subs in the trunk and more powerful amp, 1000 watt.

The sound quality is going to be basically the same just more bass from the 1000.

Is it worth it? That is a personal question for you depending on the type of music and your preferences.

If that's all that I'm paying $1000 for, I don't want it. I think that I'll do just fine with the 500.

this is coming from someone who had 2 10" jl audio subs in there last ride. the shaker 1000 is not worth the $1000 upgrade. stick with the 500 and you should be pleased. IMO the 1000 sounded too punchy. it was definatley louder, but not worth it as far as sound quality IMO. the 500 has a good balance. now if you are really into sound quality, then aftermarket is the way to go. I THINK THE SHAKER 500 IS THE BEST STEREO FORD OFFERS IN THE MUSTANG. JMHO
