Shelby C6 differences

Never heard that but would be interested in knowing if there is a difference.

C6`s

I don`t believe that the Shelby C6 would be any different than any other 428CJ C6, but there are several differances between a CJ C6 & say one from a 390. The CJ trans has a cast iron tail housing, the larger "R" servo, as well as extra clutches inside. Since a 69-70 GT500 would have a 428CJ, it would have the CJ trans, but the fact that it is a Shelby rather than a regular Mustang should make no differance. I would make certain that your R srevo & cast iron tailhousing are intact when you drop off the trans, & more importantly, when you get it back. Also, on my 428 69 Mach 1, the partial VIN number was stamped into the top of the main case, just ahead of the tailhousing. I have never seen this on a "normal" pass car or truck C6. This will confirm if your trans is the original unit.

drivetrains

McFairmont has it correct, according to the registry. Since all Shelby GT-350 & 500 production from 1968 onward was Ford only, they used production line drivetrains, but all the high-performance units.
