Yes they are. 1965Coupe has one as do a couple other fellas. Nice Stangs.

Yes they are being sold. You can goto the dealership, ebay or to the forums on http://forum.shelbyautos.com/ I think you have to register for it though. There is alot of good info on there. They will run around 40-45K for a loaded version. I have seen them wanting upto 52K for it too. That all depends on the ADM. They have a few dealers posting the ones they have on there for sale......Good luck. I have also heard horror stories about them too. I will let you make your own conclusions about the GT though.

They sticker for about $8,100 over the price of the regular GT, putting them at about $38,000 to $39,000. I think that's about $3,000 too much. I saw one dealer who wanted $63,000.
They are for sale but why would anyone pay that much for what it is? Shelby's name is worth something, but that much???????

ditto on everything above. I did run into a guy with a white Shelby GT and he got his for sticker after about 4 weeks of negotiations. The dealer wanted 10 over, he said I'll pay sticker and not a cent more, gave them his phone number, and walked out. 3 weeks later, the dealer called back and said it's your for 5 over. He told them to call back when the were ready to sell for sticker. A week later, they called back and he got it for sticker.

I would make sure you look at a Shelby GT up close and personal before purchasing one.

What scares me is all these GT500 owners that want to send their car over to SAI for conversions, I would think there would be more of an 'experience' check at their facility. They are sending them over there blind.

What has Shelby Inc in the past few years shown us that their 'tech' is better than our current long standing players? To work on all these cars.. have they hired a bunch of new people to handle the work load? What is their experience?

I am so shocked that noone is asking these questions of them.

Car & Driver

I've seen them as low as ~$39,000 on e-bay. Some greedy dealers were asking 60ish.

On a side note, Car & Driver was not too kind reviewing this car and was particularly not crazy about the Hurst Shifter and the FRPP suspension set up. They did like the exhaust and said it peformed better on smooth surfaces.

Well, the Shelby GT is nothing more than the 2 FRPP pacs and an appearance package bolted onto a regular Mustang GT. You don't really need skilled techs to bolt that stuff on when you see lots of regular guys doing the same work in their driveway. If you are talking about the Super Snake conversion for GT500s that was just announced, then you do have a good point. I'd much rather send a GT500 to a reputable tuner for an SC upgrade.

I just got that C&D issue in the mail yesterday. They were also not kean on the total cost of the Shelby GT when it is compaired to the standard GT + the FRPP packages put on it. Even the C&D writers thought the car was over priced and they didn't even have to pay for it!

Did all of you see the thread down in the LoMB about the GT-H?

I'd consider one for $35,000 but not anymore than that.
I'd check my insurance cost first, though. And with gasoline prices what they are now and a $1,000 gas guzzler tax on the Shelby, I might not even pay that.

dealer by me has one. see it everyday at work staring out the window at me. sticker 36 grand, and guess what, they want, 55, go figure guess its gonna be starin at me for a while with that price

Yes it looks horrible with those cheap looking rivets. A little too retro for my taste. Regular GT, here I come.
