Shelby qtr window kit

Has anyone installed this kit from Branda?

I got talked into this for my GT350 clone project. I found one web site in a search that had two pictures, but nothing else, and no respose to my inquiry.
I would really like some info before I take a cutoff wheel to my qtr vents. Kind of a one way trip...it comes with instructions, and they are pretty detailed, but very poor pictures.
Please feel free to provide ANY details or advice. And this one needs pictures. PLEASE! Thanks!

I swear I saw a thread on this topic not far back. Did you try a seach here yet? Personally I love the look of those windows over the vents, if I had a FB I'd be doing the same. Good luck w/ the install.

I've searched several times. Maybe I'm not getting the right phrase. I don't remember seeing a thread. I would have been all over that.

I installed this kit in my 65. The aluminum trim pieces didn't fit very well. I had to do some grinding and reshaping on all the trim pieces as well as the car body. Most of the ill fitting areas were in the corners.

The fiberglass pieces that fill the gap between the window and inner panels take some patience.

It's very helpfull to have a 90* drill attachment to drill the holes for mounting the trim.

I found the instructions mediocre at best. I kind of improvised and I think it turned out pretty well. I can post some pictures of the completed windows tomorrow but unfortunately I don't have any pictures of the modifications I made.

I just searched "quarter vent window" and used "show posts", rather than "treads", just did a quick breeze thru and from the headlines looks like it's not gonna be any easy job. What I read in the past could have been an off topic post rather than a thread, but I know someone was talking about them not long ago. Might wanna think it over real hard before cutting out those vents from the looks of it.

Well, I tried it that way. Got a lot of hits on vent window. Not qtr window. I have not even started and am concerned about the fit and finish. I know these were put in originally without a huge amount of concern for appearance on the inside, but that's not what we want today...needs to look good inside too.
If anyone has some pictures of howthey look on the inside it would be helpful. I my decide to skip it if it's going to take me a month of massagin to get them to look acceptable. I can clean up the vents in a day or less. (Why are all the unrestored fastback vents painted with overspray? ) Besides, I have always liked the look of the vents. Just like the window better.

A few pictures of the finished window installation. You can see some warpage in the inner panels. I have always liked the look of the vents but hated the blind spot. I like the look of the window too and it almost eliminates the blind spot.

Notice the little pile of dust in the middle of the lower panel. This is ash from the Oct. fires. If ash can get through, water can get through. These aren't as sealed as I thought they were.

This is the outside of the other window. You can see the ash here too. It is directly below the gap in the rubber gasket. I used glazing putty applied with a caulk gun but it still leaks.

Man, that's fantastic. Any chance you have any in progress pictures while they were being installed?
THanks so much regardless. It's great to see the detail up close. Any suggestions on how to keep them from leaking? Not a real huge concern as I can't imagine this car would knowingly be driven in the rain...

Unfortunately I didn't think to take pictures of the installation process. The leaky windows don't bother me because as you said I don't plan to drive the car in the rain. Of course the first time I drove it more than a mile from my house it began to rain. I imagine more goo around the gasket would help but it's too late for me now. These really aren't designed to come off.

I did it on my 65 and would not do it again. The fit is terrible and not worth the effort.

i did it like the others said got worl it to make it fit, the kit i had the glass was too large and the plexglass cracked when i was trial fitting but i just made them out of lexan instead im gonna use bedding glazing compound for the alum to body seal.
