I got it all together, and then it wouldn't start.

Pissed and confused, I didn't touch it for a month. Several thread were started at several forums, with possible solution ranging from you bought the wrong flywheel, you need a different flywheel for that bellhousing, the engine plate is rubbing the against the flywheel, etc. A couple nights ago I did a search for I don't exactly remember what at the corral looking for answers and found a thread from back in like 04. I read it over, and he simply tossed a couple washers in before bolting up the starter. Well, that was the easiest possible solution, so I gave it a try...

What do ya know, she started. She was idling at about 500, but damn was it nice to hear that sound.

The engine is a 70K factory 89 shortblock with a Romac aluminum balancer, Crane 2030 Cam, Edelbrock Performer RPM 6025 Heads, Edelbrock Intake FMS 42lb injectors with matching Pro-M, all topped off by a Vortech S-Trim with 8" renegade crank pulley. Backing it up is a McCloud scattershield, custom clutch, Tremec 600, and 3.73 gears out back.

Today I got the timing is set to 10, and the idle bumped. MUCH better. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qnJZDk9oKFU I still has a hanging idle if I rev it, but I'll get to that.

BTW, the car isn't pink, it faded FL red. :( Give me a couple years, and she's getting a paint job, a nice 5 lug conversion, terminator wheels, and she'll look like this:

That pic you posted is awesome, I love that (and I usually hate red notches).

Keep those plans and your car will look sick when you get it done :nice:

Yeah, I'll admit, its the first time I've seen my car look good. I've seen ponies, 99 cobras, 95 cobra R's, etc. They all looked decent, but this is the first time I've really liked the look of a red notch.
