Ive been waiting on parts forever it seems due to backorders, made by order parts, and shipping mishaps but I'm stoked to say as of yesterday everythings fallin' in place! I installed my Steeda tri ax yesterday, a double hook quadrant, adjustable cable (decided not to use the firewall adjuster), and its MUCH better than my modified stock parts. Got my Harwood 4in. (windshield length) hood and Dzus fasteners. Received confirmation that my Moroso fabricated power steering resevoir, fuse box cover, coolant tank, and brake master cylinder cover are in the mail AND they even threw in a used set of front drag launch springs because of the wait(THANKS Rick91GT)! Picked up matte black paint and supplies for the hood and im thinking of a 2 tone paint scheme for the rest of the car. Id be keeping the cranberry on bottom and using the matte black theme for the entire top of the car using the body line as a splitter and breaking it up with a silver pinstripe. Only thing lacking for now is to order my sheetmetal wing..... Paint booth here I come!!......Updated pics soon!

Maybe I missed a really important comment previously here. Why a sheet metal wing?

Then I guess you're gonna ditch the 2V? Just sayin',....an all drag car w/ a stock 2v is an oxi-moron.

I think a fast 2V car is an oxymoron as well

Well,......fast enough to need a sheetmetal wing at least.

Maybe he's gonna go Dart based windsor, and throw on an 88mm hairdryer,....THEN he'd need a sheetmetal wing.

Dude?......are you out there? we're talkin' bad about you.

Back to your OP,...I think a flat top/shiny bottom is cool (of course I'm biased) but even then, two tones are done too much
Consider one of my ideas....split the roof across the top, and paint it matte black from the line forward, gloss black (or anther color even) from the line back.

While there isn't enough "roof" to split it this far forward, the line on a coupe is much farther back. But this'll give you an idea of a different way to do a two tone. A coupe can sport this theme.

Maybe A tri-tone/two texture finish

P.S. there's even a sheet metal wing on a 7 second 1/8 mi street driven car pictured

Of course the 2v will be ditched, my brother in law is running 4.75 in the 1/8 but hes not satisfied and wants to start from a totally new foundation (dumb i thought) so we will be using his setup and adding an F2 blower...Keep in mind, these are future plans, this was intended on being a progress thread not a sheetmetal wing thread and the only reason it was mentioned is bc I stated i need to go ahead and buy it so i can paint it with the other pieces....nothing about it goin on my car yet! And madmike i always respect ur opinions, but that paint scheme is fugly! Its got too much of a starsky and hutch feel to it for me......

Not baggin on it, just curious. Paint is always better to do at once so you don't get those minor color variations between batches. Good luck with the build! PICTURES!!!

Where do you think "they" got it from? I was only offering it as a "sparksky" for your imagination.

Why a two tone is not always the best solution:

#1 There's only so many ways you can divide a fox body in two to do a two tone.
#2 Despite that, with as many colors as there are out there, there are already a dozen somebody's w/ the exact same paint job.

My advice, for what it's worth ( all 1.7 cents, adding in for the cost of living) is try to be as different as you can given the limitations of the body w/o going off the deep end, or doing something that looks ........( how you say...... uhh...Fugly).

It's just like people that ask for somebody's else' idea for a personalized license plate...... DUUUUURRR! it's called a personalized plate for a reason.

You know, it just occurred to me- you could do a badass Starsky and Hutch theme on one of those cars. That'd be sick.

So i been tryin to keep my mind occupied from the parts I THOUGHT were on there way and still ARENT and the fact that I got a piece of trash in the hood, tiny, but i know its there. I've been workin 7 days/wk lately but am planning on putting the hood on mayb this weekend so I took the entire wiper assembly out, rattle canned under the cowl, shortened my antenna, and added a fresh coat to it as well...
