4K where do you live? They're trying to charge me 8K for my 65 in Cali! I could fly to your area for a lot less than 4K!
 well, i got mine for such a cheap price because it was done by a friend my dad knew. he had some free time between projects, and owed my dad a favor, so he was able to do my car. all the shops i went to wanted at least $12,000 for all the work.

looks great man! I just got mine painted sonic blue also. I gotta say it kind blows to hear of others painting their cars that color, but i gotta say you have great taste.

mine should be on the road in about a month after i finish putting all of the glass back in.

Congrats!

i know what you mean. i thought i was gonna have this awsome color that no one else put on a classic. then i saw your post with your car and was like "well there goes that idea." but hey, great minds think alike. :nice:

it really does. everytime i walk out into the garage and see the car, i almost think it isnt mine. after that, i get a grin on my face that's not comming off any time soon.
i also just got my car painted. i will stop every time i walk past the garage door and open it and just stair at the car for a few minutes, looking it over. my wife thinks im nuts. especially since i have to say goodnight to the car before i go to bed. and its always nice coming home from work when i open the garage door and the first thing i see is the mustang.

Hi 6,

A lot of people are painting their stangs blue as of late. I painted mine blue about 3 years ago and at the time, blue was not as common as it is now. But, if you like blue and still want to paint your car blue, but you want it to be a bit different check out the blue I used.

You should be able to start your wetsanding and buffing about a day after it's painted. How long will depend some on the brand of clear coat used. The longer you wait the harder the clear coat gets and the harder it is to sand. The last vehicle I painted was about the same color and was a semi. I took me probably about 60 hours to wet sand and buff that truck. I'm not a great painter but you don't have to be. The wet sanding will make for almost all lack of skill. Take your time and you'll enjoy the results.

I kinda like the wheels... they're very vintage-race. I had a set on my Mach during its daily driver years. But to make 'em really work, the car has to have the right stance and ride height, like so:

thats awsome. i have been wanting to lower the front some more, i just need to figure out how much. can you do a pic were the higth is between the one i have now and the pic you just posted. :)

Here ya go... the first one is your current 4x4 stance, the second seems a nice street performance stance, the last one is plain badass race stance.

That is bad looking! Makes me want to take the Cragers off the coupe and go this route!

Do you have specs on the wheels? Size, width and backspacing along with tire size?

Sonic Blue always looks very good on the stangs. That and acapulco blue are my favorite blues on stangs. I will definitely paint a car that color someday. Looks awesome man enjoy it. :nice:

fronts are 225/60R15 and the rears are 245/60R15. i donno what the backspacing is, but if it's marked somewhere off the rim i can get it for you. otherwise, i'll take the wheels off and messure it sometime later this week.
