Hey, i got a 97 v-6 automatic and i was wondering... would a shift kit even do anything?? I mean mine doesn't shift hard at all.... unless i put it 3/4 of the way down then it hits 2nd gear pretty good.... but yea. HAs anyone put one in theres, does it do anything? My car is stock, as far as the engine and drivetrain go.

*gasp*...another person questioning shift kits. For shame.....I say you only get one of you wanna squeel second (especially with open rear, but still gets it pretty good with t-lok) and knock a couple tenths off yer et. If you do get one, don't forget the tranny cooler. Might as well grab one with the kit cause both will extend the life of the tranny (well, maybe not the shift kit if you beat the crap out of it all the time) then you'll be set till you wanna get a performance rebuild or a converter.

Well, I would certainly go with a B&M kit, if you wanna blow up ur tranny and put in a 5-speed. A few people I know that have blown trannys from the B&M kits called up B&M and were like "WTF?" And the Techies actually said, their kits are meant as drag racing pieces, as in, they arent designed to...downshift, so it's hella harsh on the gears when you slow back down.
