I've read and heard that the C4 that came with the 302 had a unique valvebody. Is this true? Seems odd that the MoCo would do that. I'm wanting to install a shift and was curious to what options there are. I know of B&M and TransGo.

I'm probably a bit late, but to the best of my knowledge, there is nothing different.

One-stop shopping for a huge selection of transmission parts here:

Ford Lincoln Mercury Automatic Transmission Parts: Oregon Performance Transmission - Rebuild Parts for 700R4 4L60E 4L80E E4OD 4R100 47RE 48RE & More

I bought some killer upgrades for my 390 C6 rebuild like AOD hardened sunshell, low friction bearings, and 6 pinion low gear planetary!

Adieu

Easy there, this ain't a dating site.

Only differences were smaller bellhousing and timing cover.
TCI makes a stall converter for the II bell if you want one.
