Hey all, my ride is a 1999 Gt with a few boltons.. BBK CAI, Mac O/R prochamber, MM SFC's. In a few weeks I will be getting FRP 4.10's, an Accufab 75mmT/b and plenum, Steeda UDP's and a set of Magnapack catbacks installed, and an Xcal II to tie it all up into a tidy package. I don't really have a question as much as a request for information on a Transgo shift kit AODE-HD2, does anybody have one installed on their car with similar mods? I used a predator to adjust my torque modulation as well as shift points and firmness,will shift kit be a marked difference over the predator?

Skip the Transgo and do the JMod, your transmission will thank you for it!

I've had a TransGo for 50k miles, 40k of those being on nitrous. Transmission still works great and I'm really happy with how my transmission performs. I'm one of the lucky ones though from what I've read (not seen).
That said, look into the J-Mod or if you don't want to do it yourself then call these guys bc-automotive.com . They pretty much have the market cornered for all things 4R70W.

I have a trans-go. No issues at all. I had my chip firm up shifts before - now I've added the shift kit its pretty hardcore. With stock wheels/tires youll break loose all the time. My 275 tires are inadequate. With the Xcal2 youll be able to tune it tho.
Personally I dont think you need a shift kit. The line pressure change from the xcal will be pretty damn effective - my chip certainly was. Try the xcal alone first, but I think youlll want to spend your cash elsewhere. Suspension? I'd get springs/shocks before I spent any money on a plenum/tb combo. You cant be 4x4ing any more.

The Jmod does not come from the factory. Read the write up and what's involved and you'll know why.
BTW, We left the 1-2 and 2-3 bottom springs out on mine....if you like firm shifts, this is the way to go.
Oh, and Jerry did my J-mod himself (I held the speed-wrench, LOL!), 32,000 miles ago, so I'm sure there's no issue with removing these springs.

I did the same to mine, but with the torque convertor the shifts feel perfect at WOT.
Jmod for 30k or so miles, zero problems.
Shifts better than stock at regular throttle, but WOT beware...

OHHHH, u got me excited, I'm sitting here at my computer with a pillow covering my lap cause if my wife looks over she's gonna think I'm lookin at PRON!! Thanks I will now go with mac catbacks and with the money I save on the magnapacks I will do the Jmod. I got one guy in particular in my club who is just askin for it and this should help.
Its is true, that on later model stangs some of the things that the j mod (and my trans go shift kit) tell you to do are already done from the factory. Not the bits that really make the difference tho.
