shift light question

so do i need this tach adapter to install my shift light even if it isnt an autometer shift light? because i saw the raptor can just install without the adapter to pin 26 and i have installed mine it lights up so it is getting power but is not reading the tach. this is one i bought off summit but isnt a big name brand. HELP!! and i am not installing a tach, just the shift light

You will probably need a tach adapter. I might have my old one laying around, i'll take a look. If I were you though I would return it and get a Raptor shift light ftw.

yea i heard the raptor shift lights were pretty good but this was an extra one my buddy had so it was free
