I was out driving/showing off the mustang the other day to some friends and when I got on it and the tires started spinning I waited a little to long to shift into second and went a little beyond the red line. My question is has anyone installed/integrated a shift light into the dash? Is there a good place to put it? If anyone has done this could you share pics?

I put the raptor in the vent like everyone else does. I got a yellow one because I'm used to yellow shift lights (autometer) but during a sunny day I can't see it real well.
I'm prolly gonna move it this winter, I just want some place more in my line of sight and let not jumping out at you either.
I'm thinking either pillar mount, use one of the screws that hold the dash surround in, or mount it up by the rearview mirror.

I'm leaning toward a pillar mount myself, but I still would like to see or hear about some other ideas. Thanks for the info!

You don't need a shift light, you need a rev limiter.

Are you sure you are pulling the signal from the #1 coil and not the pump?
I know it took me a good 9-10mins to find the right wire because of the cramped space and similar colored wires.

Two different time to the same wire? or to a different wire?

You need to connect the green wire from the shift light to the light green wire with the white tracer or the pink with the white tracer.

I picked up the 12v power from the keyed power wire near the PCM and used the ground lug to ground the light.
