I'm installing a t-5 and my tranny didn't come with the little plastic cup the the shifter ball goes in. What kind of place might have this. It has to be in stock. I know i could go to a junkyard, but i want a new one for my new shifter.

hmm...does it matter if i have that? when i bought my car the shifter was busted and my friend that i bought it from switched the shifter for a new stock shifter for free....but he didnt put that in there....does it matter?

Yes it is important. My old car had that piece missing and the shifter arm was loose and floppy and shifting was not easy. When I bought my PRO-5.0 shifter and installed it without the piece, it was the same thing. I asked a friend if I could remove his shifter and see if there was something missing down there since his shifter felt alot tighter than mine. I did it and saw what my car was missing.
I went to the FORD dealership and I swear I think it was like $2 because I went back bragging about how cheap it was and how that NEVER happens to me.
I installed my shifter with the new part and it was a whole new driving exprience. The shifter arm was nice and firm and shifting was so precise. Amazing how such a little part could make such a difference.
Hope this helps!

my shifter isnt loose though...it might have a slight wobble of like a centimeter to each side but nothing bad. hmm....oh well im gonna go pick one up over spring break and throw it in to see how it does. thanks

not great to have metal on metal contact. just a dumb piece of semi-soft plastic. cost me 3 bucks. dealers seem to be hit or miss.
