Shifter install Q? Did I do this right?

Finnished installing a Pro 5.0 on a 02gt. Hope I did this right cuz the instructions s***! When it's in 1st gear I can grab the shift handle and move it around so there is like an inch of play. When its in 2nd and I want to upshift the handle travels like an inch before disengaging. Did I do something wrong? This is supposed to be one of the easiest mods and if this is the way the new shifter works, then I think I might go back to stock.

Did you put the plastic bushing thingy on the bottom of the shifter that goes into the tranny?

Yeah that little black piece came off with my stock shifter too.Just take it off and put it on the new one.It will be on the little ball on the bottom of the shifter.

do that and double check that your handle is tight
