Shifter Question

I just bought another mustang (2000 GT) anyway when my dad was test driving it he noticed that the shifter wouldnt snap back into the middle, he said it felt like their was weak springs or alot of grease in the mechanism (SP). has anybody else experianced this and if so how did you fix it?

The stock shifter in the Mustangs are like everything else.....they can wear out.

The fix?

MGW or Steeda Tri-Ax = FIXED.

Buy a MGW and be done with it. Best shifter around IMOP.

are you guys sure its something wrong with the shifter?, im 99% sure there isnt a spring in the shifter... might be the trans idk, but my vote goes to the tri-ax if youre going to get a shifter

There are springs in the shifter they are called centering springs and can wear out. f you plan to race your car pro 5.0 shifter is your best bet, if not MGW is your best driving shifter.

+1 on spring in shifter wearing out or breaking.

Aftermarket shifter is the fix

Thanks fo the info guys.
ill probably just drive it the way it is for now until i get some extra money
Ill probably go with Tri ax
and no i dont plan on racing it all that much
