i have just purchased my first mustang,a 2000 gt 5 speed,So far i have installed a k&n cold air kit,off road h-pipe,and a set of 40 series flowmasters.can anyone tell me what is the best shifter for the money.i was going to purchase a mac,but i've heard they are not very good.

pro 5.0 or steeda tri-ax both are good

Try this site, the UPR blue thunder is on it and it's the same thing as the Tri-ax and costs about $30 less

I hear the main difference between the Pro 5.0 and the Triax is the Triax creates a little more cabin noise.

Yeah, but the sound difference is minor. This is due to the aluminum handle, whereas the Pro-50 handle is steel.
We have both, one in each Stang - the Pro-50 is definately more precise, more race like. The Tri-Ax is better than stock, but much more like stock the the Pro-50. The Tri-Ax is nice, the Pro-50 is amazing. Wish we'd bought 2 Pro-50s. Just my opinion...

Honestly, if you put on the stock rubber boot, there really isnt all that much noise. I only notice it when Im downshifting into second slowing down or if I get on it in first.

pro 5.0 or tri-ax ... just a matter of personal preference.
