Shifter

I am looking to change out the shifter in the Mustang.

Which do you guys prefer?

Rubber bushings or steel bushings?
I am looking at the Triax and the Pro 5.0.

Which do you guys that have them prefer I do not want the shifter to vibrate.
The flow master already make the e-brake lever vibrate.

Thanks in advance for the help. :nice:

I luv these shifter threads. There's one almost every other day. There's only one choice: M........G.........W!!!!!!!!!! :D :rlaugh:
Or Steeda Tri-Ax or Pro-5.0 :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:
The biggest difference between the Tri-Ax and the Pro 5.0 is the handle. The Tri-Ax is shaped like the stock handle, whereas the Pro 5.0 is rather short and straight. Either handle will fit on the other and many people (including myself) have found a great combo in the Pro 5.0 shifter and Tri-Ax handle. To me, the 5.0 seems more sturdy, both both are quality shifters.
Now, if you buy that M.....G.....W shifter - be prepared for the second coming of Jesus. :rlaugh:  Owners of these shifters have reported seeing God walking on water and the Red sea being parted, so, unless you are up to this kind of activity, I'd avoid the M.....G.....W.

 ... you kill me sometimes :nice:

I've used the triax and Pro50 The triax is kind of noisy but shifts good and smooth. the pro50 is alot heavier feeling (weight) and seems to shift smoother to me. I liked the pro50 handle for a while but after a while didnt like it. So I put my stock handle on it. Too sloppy with the rubber bushings in it. So I took the bushings out and welded them in. I LOVE IT! It shifts awesome and I dont mind the longer throw. Its the fact that you KNOW what gear you're in and what gear its going in, its not the short throw that does it for me.

My vote - pro50 with stock handle with bushings welded ;)

The Tri-Ax and the MGW are the most popular as the feel fits most everyone. The PRo-5.0 is uncomfortable to quite a few people.

The best recommendation to give is to hit a show or event and feel a few different ones before buying.
