okay I have my h&r supersports. maximum cc plates on the way. what shocks and struts should I run. the big three I hear of are bilstein, tokico Illumina, koni. here are the best prices I have found including shipping.


koni = $550
bilstein = $480
tokico = $450

Not sure what you are trying to do with your car or what kinda shocks you want to get, but based on those prices if there is only a $100 difference between the tokico and the koni...get the Koni's. They are supposed to be the best

I heard that tokico 5-way adjustable is very good also.. I'm going leaning toward that unless something else came up.. but now is not the time

The thing about the adjustables is that most people never adjust them. I like my bilsteins. They might be kind of firm for some peoples taste but that was what I wanted.

Theres a few resellers on EBAY that have them pretty damn cheap. I saw 450+ free shipping for the Illumina's and 459+ almost 30 shipping for Bilstiens as well. Pretty much inline with the posted prices. I've been qouted from several other sites like shox.com and couldnt find anyone that can beat those prices.

That would be me. Though I have no regrets with the Tokico's. And when it warms up a bit I fully intend to find a better way to gain access to the rear shocks to adjust them.

I'm very happy with my Bilsteins. But I am a daily driver that has yet to go to the track. I hear the adjustables are the way to go if you plan on spending a lot of time at the track and the Bilsteins if you are just looking for a great daily driver setup...

I have been very pleased with my Tokicos. When I tried Steeda sport springs with stock shocks it just did not work. The front drop was 1 5/8" and the car bottomed out on the bump-stops frequently.

I normally keep them set on 5 (stiffest) when daily driving but on road trips I like it a little softer so 3 (softer) is nice. Other than that I do not change the settings on my Tokicos. I am very happy to have the ability to change my mustang’s ride with a precision flat head screwdriver in under a minute.

BTW with the Tokicos set on 5 I can drive on very rough roads (fast) without bottoming out on bump-stops.

No one has mention the KYB AGX adjustables. Anyone have an opinion on these? Are they inferior to the others mentioned above?

No personal experience but from what I've read they aren't that great. I would stick with the 3 that the thread starter mentioned.

yeah I am really torn. I had all but decided to go with the bilstiens because I found them for $480 shipped. then I found the koni's for $550. everyone seems to rave about them.

I'm surprised no one noticed his 20 inch rims.. especially with those and bilsteins you're going to have a fugged up ride. With bilsteins i'd be scared the rims might bend. I'd just go either with the AGX adjustables or the Tokico Adjustables.

Currently i'm running Ford C-springs (full coil cut rear) with Mach Tokicos. Firm and great with my MM subframe connectors.

I don't follow what you are trying to say? why would my rims bend? does not make any sense to me.

the chances of your rims bending meaning if you hit a pothole or a hard bump on the street are higher. You have 20's on a mustang with stiff ass suspension. It's bound to warp if you hit a pothole hard enough.
