Well, here I am. I am a Ford supporter although I don't own a Mustang. So here I have found my proper place on this board.

Anyhoo, I am the proud owner of a 1998 Mark VIII LSC which is about the closest thing to Mustang that I can attain from a Lincoln which is what led me to my purchase. My stock Mark VIII will hit the 1/4 mile mark in about 15 seconds flat. I have pulled on a Marauder by a few car lengths no problem, just to give you an idea of my baseline here. It is bloated, overweight, and will greatly need the mods I have purchased.

I am doing everything I can to this car to get into the 13 second range which I think shall be no issue at all. I will not settle for a 14 second 1/4 mile which is just plain jane in my opinion.

Here are the mods that are sitting on my floor as we speak. Whaddya think?

4.10 gears
Ford Trac-Lok Unit
Differential Rebuild Kit with Poly Bushings
4" Dynotech Driveshaft
3800 rpm high stall Stage 2 10" converter
Separator Plate Shift Kit
Kooks 304 grade stainless headers
Hi-flow cats by Magnaflow
Stainless dual oval mufflers
SCT Custom Tuned Chip

The speed shop located local has the best deal for labor from the 3 that i contacted. Concerning the exhaust, it will be 2.5" with X-pipe.

I hope that you all can befriend someone who doesn't own a Mustang but is desperately trying to attain the performance of one. I am willing to accept the fact that you will all have the advantage over me when it comes to power-to-weight ratio but with the same block in the bay I tend to get excited.

Honestly, with the 4.10's you'd prob be in the high 13's right there. A lot of Mark 8 guys have hit that mark with gears and exhaust alone. A lot do 4.30's BTW as the 4V engine has a higher redline. A few crazier guys have even done 4.56's, but i'd stick with 4.10's if it's a DD sort of car.

I had a 1993 Mark 8...good car, but the air bag suspension was terrible. Hit a 14.8 @ 93MPH bone stock with it. I only had 3.08's and an open diff in mine, so launching was just soooo slooooow.

In case you haven't found it, there is a good Mark 8 board to check out Relocate
