Shop in CT that can shut off rear 02 sensors?

I'm new to the Mustang scene...car is a 98 Gt Vert Auto (my lady friend's car) , all stock except MAC in the fender CAI and a BBK catted X pipe. I keep getting CEL for the 02 sensors. I just recently did the capacitor and resistor mod but a day later the light comes back. I would just like to get them turned off. Anyone know of a shop in CT that would do a tune?

no answers because anyone fooling with the stock system will be sent directly to jail CT is as no joke read up on inspection control they even scan your iris if you are doing inspection ! an attempt tp bribe a mechanic is a serious offense !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if you want the check engine light off throw in a pair of MIL eleminators and an O/R x-pipe
with that said " this setup is intended for off road use for track or stripe and is not street legel "..................

hmmm interesting, I thought the front 2 were the important ones and the rears could be turned off?

Well I went and bought a Diablosport handheld tuner with the assumption that I could turn them off myself, apparently since going to the new rev 9. it no longer allows you to do that. So now I'm waiting to find someone who can email me a custom tune. That is literally all I want to do. I'm running cats but the sensors say the effeciency is low.

And I tried the DIY MIL's and I couldn't get them to keep the light off

I'm a Camaro SS guy for the last 8 yrs so I'm not up on the Mustang tricks, looking for some help.

And LOL I'm not trying to bribe anyone...Diablo said they can be turned off with a custom tune.

Man I would do this but it seriously is my lady's car and she just wanted some extra sound from the exhaust. I had flowmasters on there too but pulled those off because of the horrible drone...it's an Auto.

Federal government strickly prohibit the tampering of emission controled sensors, however companus like sfr, and diabolical can sell equipment to alter or delete the use of specific sensors. The loop hole is that its listed as "off road use only". When we as the consumer het caught running this stuff on the streets we face fines and peneltys. So my advice fix what's wrong or take a chance

There is nothing wrong with the car, I have a MAC CAI and a BBK catted x pipe and getting a CEL for cat effeciency....I took it to a shop when the light came on and they said it was due to the hi flow cats...?

Holy scare tactics guys lol...

I just bought my tuner with the same assumption as you OP, no option to turn off the sensors though so I did some research.

Up until last year all the handhelds turned them off, Federal legislation cracked down and made it illegal to disable emissions control sensors. Hilarious really, considering I can crank my air fuel ratio as high as I want with the same tuner which is much more harmful anyways.

You will need to find a custom tune for the Diablo, but for anyone else who stumbles on this; AmericanMuscle and Bama automatically disable rear o2's in the race tune with the Xcal3 as its a 'track only' tune.

you can use mil elims even with cats, i did for a while with absolutly NO issues. try it youll like it

What a PIA this is turning out to be! I spoke to a couple tune shops in CT yesterday and they suggested using MIL's instead of a custom tune...since this is a for my girls car and I'm not looking for performance. It would have been around $200 to custom tune it and shut off the rear 02's. So I contacted BBK because I'm kind of dissappointed that I intentionally bought a catted x pipe (more money) so that I can be street legal and not have these BS issues! They replied asking for more info and now I'm waiting on a follow up. I already spent allot of money on the x pipe, sunk money into the tuner and don't want to spend another 200 on a custom tune! Not for a little extra sound! The handheld tuner is now up for sale, wish I never bought it. A waste of money for my application really.

Go invest in some MIL eliminators. I heard about 3 years ago that tuners would stop giving the option to disable rear o2's so I refused to update my Diablo to keep that function with having the OR X in my exhaust setup.

Go with the MIL's and be done with it. The resistor mod is slightly iffy if it works or not. I dealt with the CEL on for about 6 months before I bought my tuner, just occasionally had it checked at Autozone for different codes, but I didn't have any issues..

If you don't like paying out big money for plastic, a capacitor, and a resistor, then you can build your own: $4.50 DIY O2 Sensor MIL Eliminators
I built my own and they have worked perfectly for the last 4 years or so. Literally, took like 20 min and a couple bucks. The trick is to package them in a manner that won't let the wires move around or touch during the service life.

BHBUFF- I did that DIY mod and no luck , Now I'm getting 2 codes... faulty circuit and Cat effeciency...lol

And I'm currently working with BBK trying to get a replacement X pipe.... I contacted them last night looking for the MIL eliminators and received an email reply today asking for more info, apparently a catted X pipe shouldn't need eliminators from what they're telling me. I bought it in March 2010...so my one year warranty is up...but they're willing to work with me so far. Crossing my fingers!

BHUFF...one more thing

When I did my DIY Eliminators I followed the instructions in the link below...I later learned that the instructions were backwards...they show the resistor on the gray wire and jumpimg the cap to the black...at the end of the same thread they correct it and put the resistor on the black wire and jumped to gray...so I had to redo them...I was hoping I didn't ruin them by wiring them the other way first. And it also says placement of the sensors is important and I posted on here asking which color plug on the 02 sensors is for which side? I used blue for driver and purple for passenger...nobody knew or replied...?

OK wait... you were having problems with a CATTED x????? I missed this tidbit, catted, highflow should not be throwing codes by right... unless BBK isn't meeting emissions standards with the cats they ship with the product...

BBK is right, there should be no codes being thrown... bad cat or bad o2 sensor is my honest guess... Or this is a 96-98 correct? with 4 cats from the factory? I guess its possible to throw a code going from 4 to 2 high flow, but I honestly can't see it.

Even with my catless prochamber w/out eliminators or a tune it won't throw a code for ~400km if its warm, 150km if its cold (sub zero)... /W tune it will not throw a code (obviously).

Mil eliminators are NOT guaranteed to work. In 85% of scenarios they seem to, but I know of people who they haven't worked for.

I am with BBK on this one, I feel like there is a puzzle piece of information missing...

Sure is a catted pipe! That's why I bought it...I wanted the car to be able to pass emmissions no problem. It was in the car for 4-5 months before throwing a light. Here is the code Im getting-P0420 "Catalyst efficiency below threshold bank 1" BBK is sending me a new Cat....I'm hoping that's the missing piece of the puzzle!
