Because when I do my heads, im going to use my stock vavle covers, but they wont clear with the baffle. And with the baffle out, oil will run up that hose and into the t/b. That filter prevents it, so really it does nothing right now, Im stil l deciding wether or not to use my stock valve covers, because now I like how these look now with the slots in the intake, but its already there, the hose is cut, i dont worry about it.
