Hey guys. Im not sure of the manufacturer of my short throw, but when i gear down to second and i let the clutch out it grinds sometimes and throws it out. Also going into reverse it grinds or the clutch needs to be half way out to get into reverse..If anyone knows wat the problem could be cause its pissing me off and ruining my tranny slowly!! thanks guys!

Pull the shift boot and check your stops. I bet it's loose and is hitting. Set them right and tighten them up real nice.

I'm betting on it being the old t5 going out.

I just had the same problem. I installed the Pro 5.0, checked the stops and it still did it. Recently though, it hasn't been doing it. I think my hand-foot coordination was wrong. I'm finally getting used to it.

Ha, seems like a lot of people have this problem; I know I did.

As far as reverse; it should grind, it's not a synchronized gear. Shift into 5th, and then down into reverse; that should keep reverse from grinding, and save some wear on it.

It's your transmission and what NKau said is right, shift to another gear before going to reverse, it's not synchronized.
