What else do I need to buy? Handle? Shifter knob? Shifter boot?

I'm going to go with a Pro50 based on different reviews from the forums.

Does anyone pics of their short throws? I hate the look of the mustang's bulky shifter.

mgw is the best money can buy IMO, hell, they even give you a whole tube of RTV, and allen, and new hardware to put the damn thing in!

I have heard nothing but positive things about the mgw shifter. Can someone tell me what makes these things so great? I have yet to drive a car with one in it but im dying to try one out. I have a steeda tri-ax in my car right now and i like it. I have also had a b&m and a pro 5.0 in the past, out of the 3 i have personally used i like the steeda the best.

honestly, since you already have the steeda, it's not really worth getting an mgw seeing as how they perform identically. the mgw is different, cool and i have yet to miss a shif with it. i love the damn thing to death!

I'm not committed to the pro 5.0. MGW is fine with me but I need to know what else is needed. Can I use my stock shifter boot? Where did yall buy the MGW from?

I'm pretty sure you can use the stock boot.

One of the best mods on my car so far. Strongest centering springs out of any shifter made for the fox I believe. You won't miss 3rd on a hard 2-3 shift unless you try.....and even then you might not

Wow, the MGW shifter looks really freaking amazing. Does it come w/ all three different handles? I didn't see any reference to that on the website. I have the B&M Ripper right now, and I've always loved it. I might have to get the MGW when T-56 time comes around.

Pro5.0 here, and doubt I would want a different kind. A shifter is a shifter in my eyes, and the driver has a lot to do with missing shifts. I can drive my 4cyl with a stock shifter as well as my 5.0 with the Pro5.0!

Why are you searching for blue? Because its shorter?

I guess I need to buy the shifter and knob. I'll just use the stock boot unless you guys know of a place that sells good boots for these shifters.

The stock boot is fine. It just looks a little scrunched down but still a great fit. As far as the ball...I've tried SEVERAL different ones and the one I like the best is the leather ball from the 99-03 Cobra (5-sp)

Prime Lord do you have a picture of that ball? I think mine is from the '00 Cobra R.

They only sell the orange handle now, it's a compromise between the red and blue, which they used to sell.

if you look at the pics of mine above you will see that the orange is longer than both. I lucked out and got the red and blue handles off ebar and I am using the blue....and I also am using a leather knob too.

Agreed. I have the MGW, and wouldn't buy anything else, but only because of the handle design and build quality. Every shifter will shift pretty much the same, and if you're missing shifts I guarantee it's driver error. The main benefit of an aftermarket shifter is the shift stops that save the tranny from damage on hard shifts. You don't need anything other than the shifter. You can use the stock boot and knob.
