Has anyone installed shorty's yet? How was the performance difference? Sound? Ease of install. The headers on my 01 were a pain in the a@# to install. and most importantly Carb legal.

The only headers that have a CARB number are the JBA shorty’s. The performance gains from shorty headers are very minimal and hardly worth the expense.

That is what I figured. I am going to get a Supercharger next year so I am trying to prepare the car now......how about the sound? Do they change the sound much? I have Dynomax mufflers and they are too quite

The sound would be about the same. If you want louder get some Pypes Violators or a straight through design like the the SLP Power-Flow and Magnaflow Magnapacks .

JBA's are the way to go - they have different coated options and are smog legal for CA - give these guys a call they should have them in house

Sound changed a little bit, but it didn't change enough to justify buying them (bought my car with them already on). I'd recommend an H pipe (catted, of course since you're in Cali) and some Pypes Violators. If you want it loud, that's the way to go. My set up is shorties, off-road h, and pypes violators and it is insanely loud when I get on it and still pretty loud when I'm trying to be quiet. When just cruising it's quieter than stock though

i agree w/ hoboat...loud as hell when you gun it! bbk's, h-pipe, and flows is what i'm running....people say long tube is better, if we are talking 50 hp difference then go long tubes but the margin between the two is not that huge! if you and another car have the same set-up but he has long tubes, the difference will be the DRIVER...IMO! its your money do what you like...good luck
