I had some problems with my first rebuild. I put an old timing chain I had laying around and that caused some problems. I also didn't get the crank polished or anything and I ended up scraping the main bearings. All this just on the dyno haha! Anyway I got the crank from the machine shop, getting new Clevite 77 main bearings and Stangfreak's old timing chain/gears so I can put this engine back together. Next time I take anything apart again hopefully it will only be the heads as I plan on some nice heads to complete the setup. I'd like to dyno again but my friend doesn't have time for me unless I pay full price so... blah!

Hope everything goes well :nice:

I installed the crank at lunch between bites of my hamburger and beer... Turns real nice, a lot better than the first time. NOW the engine is going to run smooth and I wonder if I can get more than 278hp??? Doubt it though.

Wow bad luck loves me or hates me... I was done, all done just needed to torque the head bolts... turns out I was missing some head bolts WTF! How can they jump from a box and hide from me. I just went to a junk yard and took out some head bolts from a 302 truck. Tonight the engine will be ready to dump into the car. Let's just hope it will run okay and that rear seal will hold on lol

It sucks losing stuff , I was wrenching on my car last week and I dropped my 8mm wrench in the engine bay , beleive it or not I haven't found it yet... :nonono:

I just can't beleive it... It's a freaking Focus , the engine is big like my electric razor.... :D

Have you looked in the oil pan for you studs...
