should i buy this cam??

my friend is selling this cam for $100 its brand new and list for $189, should i buy it??

if it were me, i wouldnt do it. i just dont like the idea of something metal and flat sliding on something else that is metal. a hydraulic roller cam just seems like a much better idea than a flat tappet cam. you can get a much better cam like the tfs stage 1 for cheap or a fomoco alphabet cam. just my opinion though

why would you want that.. ??? thats a small cam.. and flat tappet?? i would use that money towards a roller, just save up some more

It seems like a nice dual pattern cam that favors exhaust. It is not as aggressive as a stage 1, BUT....it is flat tappet. That is going backwards in tech since you have a roller block. Although its cheap ($100 bucks), a stage 1 is like $50 more. Just re-use your current lifters.

You'll need new lifters, pushrods and valve springs along with the cam -- there went your cost savings and then some.

Leave the stock cam alone -- it's capable of supporting a lot more power once you get the stock head out of the way. Save your $100 and put it towards a new set of heads.
