Should I get Rubber or Poly Control Arm Bushings?

For a street car rubber is MUCH better. Poly makes the rear end too stiff during body roll and you get a nasty little thing called snap oversteer. It's a pretty scary thing when it happens.

If you are doing the axle end MM has a tool for pressing them out and pressing the new one's in. It's 30 bucks and works really well.

All of the hardcore suspension people say to use the rubber bushings in the UCA's for a street car. The UCA's need to move ''laterally'' because of the bad factory rear suspension geometry; or something like that, if you use polys then you get the snap oversteer like mentioned.

IDK Autozone had those bushings; I might get those for the uppers instead of getting new arms.

Check the Maximum Motorsports site. There is a recommendation with a description as to why they suggest the newer rubber bushings as opposed to anything stiffer for the upper control arms.

I think i got the stock ones fairly cheap at the dealer.
Also, get whatever tool it takes to put them in and take them out.

While it can be done without the tool, it's a nightmare, i know from experience.

Not meaning to hijack, but if only the bushings get replaced, it it worth upgrading the control arms? Those FRPP ones (that MM recommends and sells) with the rubber bushings are a bit pricey for what they are, and the main body doesn't look to be any different.

You don't need new upper arms on a stock suspension car.. new bushings will make a big difference unless you want to shed a few lbs and or need to adjust the pinion angle then look to aftermarket upper arms.

So yea, Rubber is for me....AutoZone.com | Shopping | Parts | Product Detail - Control Arm Bushing - Rear

Can't beat $5.99 a piece, I dont want to spend too much on this car so rubber it is.

$5.99, your AZ is cheap! I'm at $10 like SickSix.

It looks like these guys still have them for $65 bucks.
