HELP ME!! Should I get this 68?

I am considering buying this car if you guys think its a good deal.

Its a 68, Arizona car in Minnesota with no rust, the body & interior is in great condition, Am-Racing wheels, newer 302 V8, auto, completely redone interior, LOTS of new parts/mods... $4000 obo... should I get it ?

Looks nice, but from the pics either the rear rims are the wrong offset or the rearend is too wide. Jacked up cars look tacky today so I think you would want to get that rear down so this could become an area where new rims or rearend is need adding $$$ to the project so make sure you investigage. For $4K it looks nice though.

If it runs and drives as good as it looks - I think its a good deal. Make sure you go on a test drive for at least 5 miles at hwy speed after the engine is warmed up.

Looks like a pretty good deal to me, also. I would keep the high rear end look. We call that the 'stink bug' look and I personally think it looks good on the coupes. Plus, if you drop it you might run into clearance issues if you decide to use full length headers...or so I'm told.

only one issue with high rear end look if it's done the traditional way. (Air shocks,longer shackles) both can reek havoc on the car. if you like the jacked up rear go with standard eye 5 leaf springs with lower front suspension then your car will have a nice rake and be sound suspesion wise. I replaced my whole suspension on my 67 for under a grand and from the looks of the car it would be worth it. Nice Find

Sounds like a pretty good deal. The engine and tranny are a great combo. Heck, the 302 survived in Mustangs until 1995. That should tell ya something.

p.s. having glass packs might not be that great. They were cool for what they were in the 70's, but there are much better options out there now as far as exhaust and mufflers go.

The car is in AWESOME condition, it looks as if its just been completely redone with ALOT of new parts on it.

Thats what Ive heard, since Ill probably put a new system in, whats the best way to go? I want somthing that really sounds nice, I dont care if its loud...

I've heard Magnaflow exhaust, and it is pretty great. Good quality sound, not the loudest out there, but the performance is is pretty much as good as any muffler.

The 5.0 engine is a 302. There are some differences over the years (most notably the mid 1980's when it became a roller motor), but it's basically the same design.

Don't like the rims. Great car/great price. My 67 sits the same as that. Personally I like the 67's better, but I am biased because I own one, and have no need for the reflector on the rear quarters.....

Looks like you may have a cowl problem. The windows have condensation on the inside. (or it looks that way in the photo.) That's usually a tell tell sign . I would at least check it, especially if your gonna keep it outside!!
