Its a 91 302 H.O. long block with 59,000 miles. Brand new AFR 165cc heads, Ford Racing graphite head gaskets, ARP head bolts. Ford Racing F303 cam, .512"/ .512" lift 226/226 duration. DSS aluminum main girdle with ARP studs. New stock double roller timing chain. Comes with stock oil pan thats set up for blower oil return on both pass. and driver side. Motor is clean and hasen't been started since these parts where installed. 100% stock for the 59,000 miles.

The guy lives about 2hrs away.He said he would deliver everything for $1700.Im not sure if this is a good deal or not.My block needs a rebuild,so thats why im looking.Well let me know

i would think with brand new afr's and the f-cam it would be worth the money. the heads are worth like 12 or 1300 alone.

If everything is as he says it is, it's probably worth it.

That said, buying a used motor is really similar to sitting down at a casino

He said the motor ran good and nothing was wrong at all.The reason for selling is he is upgrading to something bigger

I hope Adam95GT doesn't mind me posting this link. Be VERY careful when you buy used parts. That's all I've got to say.

The second link is from the Corral. Seems the guy found out Adam was on to him...

Sounds to me like somebody was running a blower and didn't like it. F cams are trash except when use for forced induction, then they tend to do well.

My view point on it would be

You know it has had a blower and has been subjected to some abuse
so ..........
I'd have to tear it down and check it real good for peace of mind :Word:

Short block is OEM ... nothing special with 59K

To me that girdle is worth nothing as I would have no use for it
but
Perhaps you can sell it

The cam to me would be of no interest but you might be able to sell it

The heads and head bolts would be of the most interest to me and
I would value them at about 80% of their original value
if
Upon inspection you see they have not been fired up.

So .........

Subtract from the 1700 the parts you might be able to sell
or
If you keep them ... you should add in what you believe to be their value

anyway ... I'm sure you see where I'm going

You are trying to see how much you really are paying for an OEM
59K short block that has had a blower on it.
