Should I switch to dumps, currently have macs & tailpipes.

I like the way it sounds right now, but if I chop off my tailpipes do you you think it will soud better and louder. I really want my idle to be even louder? Should I stick with tailpipes or try out dumps?

dumps will make it louder at idle....and it will change the way it sounds all together...im going with dumps on my dynomax race bullets that i just got. i heard they sound much better with dumps

Dumps will definatly make it louder from idle all the way up because of how they bounce the sound off the ground. They sound badass so if that what your going for then do it.

my dumps are so loud and resonating they set off the alarm on my wife's (and others at the mall and such) car. They are quite loud because the sound bounces directly from the ground...it also looks cool on cold mornings when the condensation from the exhaust is pooling out around your rear tires!!

yep, go with the dumps. i love mine especially since they aim straight down it makes the people behind me feel the vibration. i usually set off some alarms leaving wally world just for some fun. lol

I had dynomax turbos and tail pipes, and freind recommended dyno max race magnums, I decided to go with dumps as well...Lux them. With dumps the car sounds a bit quiter at idle, I think the ground muffles the sound a bit. With T/P the sound comes right the back. Not that loud a cruise, but when I hit it has a very destinct sound ..I also have an x pipe .

i have dumps and they make my car sound like a real beast with the ground shaking and everything! wooo!!

I just installed 3 inch MAC PRO Dumps on mine this morning. They are quieter than the dynomax bullets that I did have on it. I like the idle of the dynomax better but the MAC sound better when driving around. I say go with the dumps, easy to work with, less weight, and plenty of clearance. (tailpipes used to rub the rear tires)

Dumps have their ups and downs. I have them on now but am switching to tailpipes next week. Here is what I have found about dumps:
Pros: Louder, deeper idle, more intimidating, less restrictive
Cons: Loud drone in the car, will get more attention (good and bad), you will smell like exhaust if sitting long at all, lose a little torque due to less backpressure.
Nonetheless, I have had mine on for 2 years and they are pretty fun, sound good, I am mostly just tired of smelling like a gas tank.

This was my main problem when I had dumps on my car, plus the drone got annoying after a while. I'm gonna go against the majority here and vote for tailpipes.

Do it!!! You won't regret it. I run Dynomax Bullet's combined with an X Pipe and Dump's and it sound's mean as hell behind my 408.... Setting off car alarm's all the time is a common occurance for me.

If the car in question is a daily driver then get tail pipes otherwise the cool factor will wear off on your daily commutes. Now if it is a fun car then go dumps .

(thing about dumps is it blows **** all over the bottom of your car)

i dunno if anyone has taken into consideration inspection...don't you need tail pipes to pass the "visual" part of the test?

this might cost a lot, but i've been toying with the idea electric cut outs welded right after the muffler, then have the tail pipes welded to the other side. with the flip of a switch, dumps, another flip and you've got tail pipes. just an idea, but probably a lot of $$$ for the cut outs.

The only thing I have to say is I love them. With a big duration cam it thumps. It's so nice. Interior nosie isn't bad at all with a notch but hatch are louder inside then notches.
