should installing a bbk cai really have been this hard?

I'm just curious how anyone that has the BBK fendermount cai mounted the filter to the tube inside the fender. I struggled a lot doing this. Should I have dropped the fender wheel lining to make it easier? In the bbk install video it looked like they had theirs out when they did it. And then once I finally got it on getting the hose clamp around it was a pain. Just wondering for when I need to clean the filter on it in the future.

I'm not a fan of the kits that bend into the fender but I'll admit back in late 90's I had one. I jacked the car up and took off the inner fender well. Taking the time to do that saved me the exact headache you faced. Later I bought a real mass air meter Pro-M 77MM and got rid of that 90 degree bend.

A Straight shorter shot will make more power.

Okay I think I am going to pull mine off just to make sure it is on there good. Does it come off easy? Will I have to replace any plastic clips?

Jack that side of the car up. Remove the screw from the lower part of the black plastic pece. Not sure what it called, but with the screw in place there its going to be PITA. You should see what im talking about. On my car there is no screw. Im guessing the PO didn't re-install it. You can leave it off or on but im guessing the filter get dirty quicker with it off.
