8 oint bar with swing out doors from S&W http://swracecars.com. They make a kit for mustang convertibles. I think I payed about $600 for the bars, swing out kit & to have them welded in.

Yeah it was about $600. The 8 point roll bar from S&W is $170 for mild steel ($399 for moly), $70 swing out kit ($35 per side) + shipping & welding.

The top clears the top hoop with no problem. I ran the cross brace even with the rear seat so I can still use the back seat & the rear braces run right between the ends of the rear seat & the quarter trim panels (just notch the metal bracing on the rear of the seat to clear the bars). I can get some pictures this weekend of you want to give you a better idea. I have the interior out of the car right now because I'm recovering the door panels & 1/4 trim.

are your front seats completely back? I am contemplating a roll bar, but I want my head to clear it for obvious reasons.

I'm pretty sure my local track (Maple Grove) is 13.49. I know my 4 point bar won't pass.

13.9 to my knowledge. I dont even plan on racing and I am getting one. asides from tying the weak assed frame together, it will go a long way towards saving me or my kids if the car flipped in a wreck.

It's 13.99 at Maple Grove, that's why I had the roll bar put in. You need atleast a 6 point.

I actually just called them. They said 13.49 is the standard. They also mentioned that if your in the 13's a 4 point would be ok, but they would like a 6 point. Anything faster than 13 defiantly requires it.
I was wondering because i had times in the high 13's before there and no one said anything.

It must have changed, it used to be 13.99 for the bar & a cage for faster than 11.99. That was 2 years ago.

Yup it changed last year to 13.49, either way I will be running high 13s soon on a tire and low-mid 12s on spray.

Btw roll bars , especially door bars can be very dangerous on the street, they can cut you in half if you are t-boned. I'll take out my door bars on the street.
