I am going to do side exhaust on my 01 Gt and the options are magnaflow, Borla, and Spintech....Someone on here had where they put a cap on the end of a flowmaster to make some dumps for iti was wondering if i could use that way for he side exit....Does anyone know how i could do this????What would you all recommend????Thanks for your opinions

Spintech now makes a version of their side exhaust that works with the roush body kit and tips... i would go for spintech's... i wish they were out when i was bying my exhaust...

I like the sound of the borla more but the look sucks IMO. I guess the big question is in the midpipe. The magnaflow with a stock midpipe will be quite. the spintech with an o/r exhasut would be obnixious. so I think you may want to consider that. I was messing with a roush yesterday. the stock exhaust does not sound all that impressive. with an o/r pipe it may have sounded sweet. if you are keeping you factory midpipe do yourslef a favor and get the spintech so you will have some volume.

Don't get the steeda side exhaust. I bought it for 750$...worst money i've spent in a long time, took it off after 2 months. The build was terrible, pipes didn't line up right, one side was too low and would hit everything, no matter how much you tried to adjust it. You raise it up os it doesn't hit speed bumps (my car is at stock height) and it rattles agains the floor. I eventually just cut off the tips and made a staight set side side exit pipes, looks just like the real set up. It sounds mean now, but has drone on the highway.
My suggestion to you, is to buy a pair of mufflers and tips that you like and have a shop make the connecting pipes. Therefore they'll be made to fit your car and can accomdate for any mods you have (low drop, subframe connectors, etc).
thats probably the safest bet.
Just my two cents.

I have 1 chamber flow masters made into a side exhaust on my 96 GT. The thing was bad as hell. Everyone that heard my car loved it. Only people that didn't like it were the ones that thought it was to loud. Well it was loud as hell.

I heard the other exhaust I really didn't like them. O yea I paid 300 dollars total to put the Flows on. The pipes didn't hit anything on the car either.

I have an 02 Roush Stage II with a stock midpipe and magnaflow mufflers that came with the package. The sound is nice but very conservative. It is quieter than a stock GT. Personally, I am considering getting either an o/r mid pipe or putting new mufflers on it. Though, if you dont want your stang to make a whole lot of noise the magnaflows are great and do actually sound very good when you get on the gas.
