from 1999-2004 what powertrain changes have been made to the GT.

do all years have the same tranny, compression ratio, rear end gears, etc.

i've heard that they changed the transmission and that the 01's and up have slightly more compression, but i could be totally wrong here, can you guys straighten this out for me?

'99- mid 'o1 cars had the t45 transmission (except bullitt)
mid o1 to now have the t3650

the 99-00 had windsor blocks and the 'o1-o4's have romeo blocks. i think compression was raised a point or two to the current 9.4:1 i think

all cars have 3.27 gears

stupid question here. but if the compression ratio was raised shouldnt the horsepower level raise as well? if not why raise it? not doubting at all, just wondering?

I have heard rumours that in '99 and '00 the cam profile was slightly hotter, so the small increase in compression (which went from 9.0 to 9.4) was offset by a small change in the cam profile. I can't confirm this, though.
